I always like to say that Atlantic Highlands is the child of an Artist and a Fisherman, as both influences are still alive and well in this quaint town at the mouth of the Jersey Shore! Known for its ferry to NYC, Fishing boats, Art Galleries, festivals, and adorable downtown, Atlantic Highlands is quite a gem!
Atlantic Highlands is a small Victorian town on the New Jersey shore overlooking lower New York Bay, with Manhattan in the distance. Its hills include the highest point on the eastern seaboard south of Maine.
Many of Atlantic Highlands’ Victorian homes have been preserved and restored, adding to the charm of small-town living and providing interesting walking tours in the historic district. There are new construction and revitalization to the downtown also underway with the buildout of the new Carton Brewery building, new restaurants coming to town and easy access to the beaches as well as the hills for hiking/biking!
If you are looking for seaside quaint town living, where most people know one another and a tight-knit community with good schools and fantastic transportation to NYC options, this town may be the one for you! It is extra special to us, as we call it home to one of our offices and Lisa English on our team has lived close to here for the past 3 years!
