Fair Haven is an adorable community that was grown out of its relationship to the Navesink River, which runs along the town. It used to be homes to people summering in the area, and also a thriving riverfront community with established families setting up permanent residency. Today, it is a very cute community with local homegrown businesses taking up residency along the main road, which has kind of 2 mini “downtowns”- small, but packed with coffee shops, bookstores, great restaurants, your local hardware store and most of your daily needs.
The town has a reputation for being a “biker’s haven” as a lot of the residence bicycle around the area, especially the kids who get the roads closed off at parts to ride their bikes to school- you’ll see a long row of bike racks full! Fair Haven is among some of the top-rated schools in the area and has a lot of great community around the schools and kids that live here! Fair Haven has a mix of old and new homes, with a lot of older traditional homes from the early 1900’s, some larger homes from the 1950-1970’s and the brand new construction home as well to choose from. There are Fair Haven Fields and some walking trails as well. And one of the highlights is the Fireman’s Fair in the summer- not to be missed.
